Sheikh Dr. Youcef Bensala is a distinguished scholar in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh & Usul) with over twenty years of experience speaking at conferences, giving lectures and teaching the various Islamic Sciences.

He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya and has published over 15 peer-reviewed articles and 4 books in he last couple of years. He also served as Advisor for the Birmingham College of Humanities in England, the Head of Shariah & Arabic Department of The University of Science and Technology in Yemen and has been a distinguished speaker in numerous international conferences, including in England, Spain, Turkiye, and others.

He holds a PhD in Sharia with specialization in Fiqh & Usul and has numerous Ijazah and Sanad in Classical Islamic works including comparative religious studies, the Quran, Tafsir, Qira’at, Hadith, Hadith terminology, Fiqh, comparative fiqh, jurisprudence principles, and the Arabic language and its scientific aspects.

Sheikh Dr. Youcef has memorized the 10 Qira’at from teachers (Sheikhs) in different parts of the world including Madina, Mauritania, Algeria and Egypt among others and has led as Imam for over 20 years. He has traveled extensively in search of knowledge and has a lengthy list of Ijazahs & Sanads to his name, including the Quran, the 6 main books of hadith, books of tafsir, and others.

Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, he has made significant contributions to academia through his lectures, research, and numerous publications on Islamic law and global religious texts. He has also supervised many graduate and post-graduate students in academia, and hundreds of students who have studied under him have received their Ijazah & Sanad in Qur’an, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh & other books.
